Jeremy’s All-City Gorilla Monsoon

This Monsoon is definitely my favourite bike I’ve ever owned, largely because of the fast/steep geometry and huge tire clearances. I also love the colour. I believe in the bicycle as a ‘lifestyle instrument,’ and as such, aesthetics matter a lot to me. You’ll only ride as much as you feel cool, after all! In that regard, I like my bikes to use a more subdued colour palette with lots of Earth tones and with polished silver components whenever possible. It is very important for me that my bike compliments the environment(s,) where I ride and that informs a huge part of my cycling philosophy. My bikes are also always a work in progress; there’s always something to change or try and that keeps me on my toes and helps keep me informed with how best to guide our clients on their purchases. Right now I’m running a suuuuper wide, 52cm Cowchipper Deluxe drop bar from Salsa which I’ve setup with an 11 speed Sram X-Actuation pull compatible Microshift bar end shifter. The Cranks are the venerable White Industries ENO square taper, and the wheels are hand built. The rear hub is a Hope Pro 4, which is my favourite hub of all time, and there’s a Shutter Precision dynamo up front. The dynamo is set up to the Sinewave Beacon light w/integrated charging which I hang off a Nitto M-18 front rack. I think basket bikes are the damn future and if you haven’t tried one you haven’t lived, haha. There’s a trillion other fine details I could bore you with but the last thing I’ll mention is the tires. I recently put on the newly launched Rene Herse Umtanum Ridge 2.2” tires and it’s changing my life. These tires are fast, grippy, comfortable, beautiful, light, and shockingly quiet on the pavement. Seriously, get these tires!
