Jr. staff focus primarily on walk-in repairs, basic tune-ups, stock bike builds, and a variety of other small to medium challenge level service jobs. A Jr. position is a training position and will include the gradual increase into more challenging and involved repairs/services over the course of months and years. No experience is required in applying for a Jr. position though 1-3 years experience is a strong asset.

Jr. Positions start at $18.50/hour and go up to $23/hour and require a minimum 2 day per week scheduling commitment, with weekend availability. Currently available positions are temporary until the start of September.

Sr. staff focus on executing the highest level of repair possible across a wide variety of bicycle styles, and work to coach Jr. staff as they learn and progress. Sr. staff are expected to understand and have first hand experience and knowledge including, but not limited to: electronic shifting systems, hydraulic work, internal gear hubs (including Rohloff,) aero/internal routing, Campagnolo drive trains, dynamo hub/lighting setup, press fit bb standards. In addition to performing high quality service, Sr. staff must be to be able to problem solve complex repairs on a daily basis, write accurate and detailed quotes, and manage their time and workload effectively. As mentioned, Sr. staff participate as mentors of their Jr. counterparts and work closely with the Jr. Service staff to provide insight and solutions to daily questions and complex inquiries. Due to the involved coaching element as a Kissing Crows Cyclery Sr. Mechanic, Sr. staff are expected to have completed their S-Tec, Sram U, and U of Q training programs in full. A Sr. Staff member must be able to build wheels quickly and to the highest standard, and should have a minimum of 3-5 years professional experience.

The Service//Mechanics Team is the backbone of the shop. Our service team is responsible to the shop and community as compassionate experts in all things to do with the functions of the bicycle. As a member of the Kissing Crows Cyclery Service Team you can expect to work on many different bikes from many different eras across many different cycling disciplines. We glue tubular tires, we service internal gear hubs, we build custom bikes, we fix flat tires, we do hundreds of hand built wheels per year and if that sounds like something that excites you, welcome!
